The Open Web Publish Desktop App is the heart of the ecosystem. It was designed to provide authors with a focused writing environment that is both powerful and clean.
Key Areas
Book Management: On the home screen, you can see all your books at a glance. New projects can be created in just a few clicks – a title, description, and an optional cover are all you need.
Chapter Structure: Each book can be divided into as many chapters as you like. The chapter overview shows your progress and word count per chapter.
The Editor: In writing mode, the text takes center stage. The editor supports Markdown formatting and offers a distraction-free interface.
Dashboard: The book dashboard gives you an overview of key metrics such as total word count, number of chapters, and the last edit timestamp.
System Requirements
The desktop app runs on Windows 10 or higher. Additional platforms are planned for the future.
Current Status
The app is currently in active development. Core features such as book management, chapter structure, and the editor are already implemented. More features will be added with each update.
